Licensed Software

The Licensed Software Office (LSO) negotiates and administers software license agreements with many vendors in order to decrease overall software costs to the University. The software can be purchased by U of T students, faculty and staff. However, depending on our agreement with the vendor, not all software is available to everyone.

Coming Soon SAS for July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023

Updated July 25, 2022: We have reached an agreement with SAS and are providing a temporary license extension to August 30, 2022 while our order awaits payment and processing. We expect purchase of the new license to be in place by the end of August. To obtain the temporary license file and instructions please login to https://utoronto.sharepoint.com/sites/utl-ic-lso with your UTmail+ account.

The Licensed Software Office will continue to distribute licenses for administration, teaching, research, and student classroom purposes. Distribution of the Academic Strategic Fee Waived License was contingent on administrative users paying for the license. We were not able to fund that license and will continue to distribute it on a cost recovery basis for administration, teaching, and research. The price will be lower than in previous years and determined after payment of the invoice.
