 University of Toronto Libraries (UTL) has received reports that freelance work is being advertised through Facebook and other channels, referencing Robarts and using the email address johnprobertsresearchlibrary @ gmail.com. These advertisements are not connected to UTL, and any implication that they are is fraudulent. Our student jobs are posted only through the Student Jobs page linked below.

Librarian positions

Unionized positions

CUPE 1230

CUPE 1230 positions, both full time and regular part time, are not posted online. Vacancies are displayed on bulletin boards within the libraries.  These positions include library technician and some IT positions.

CUPE 1230 student positions

Student positions are available to University of Toronto students enrolled in a course or courses leading to a degree or diploma covering the majority of the academic session or registered in the School of Graduate Studies. Most of these positions are posted online in April and mid-August.

CUPE 3261

CUPE 3261 positions such as building patrols are posted online as well as on certain bulletin boards in the libraries. There are full-time and part-time opportunities.

United Steelworker of America 

United Steelworker of America positions are available first to members of the USWA bargaining unit are posted online. If a suitable candidate is not found from within the bargaining unit, the position is opened up to external candidates and posted online.

Professional, managerial, and confidential positions

Professional, Managerial, and Confidential positions (both internal and externals) are posted online on the University of Toronto's careers website.
