How to Find Journal Articles
The title of the journal is used to locate a print or online
subscription to the journal in the library catalogue
Tip: it is always a good idea to write down, print or e-mail citations
that interest you. It could save you a lot of stress when you are writing
your works cited lists!
Reading journal citations:
1. From an online index
- TI: Cumulative effects on wetland landscapes: Links to wetland
restoration in the United States and southern Canada
- This is the title of the article.
- AU: Bedford, BL
- This is the Author's name
- SO: Wetlands, vol. 19, no. 4, pp. 775-788, Dec 1999
- This is the title of the journal (Wetlands), the volume (19), the
issue (4), the pages (775-788) and the date of publication (December
1999). In order to find the article in the library catalogue you will
need all of the information found on the SO line.
To find this article in the library catalogue you would type in the names
of the journal: Wetlands
2. From a printed bibliography or works cited list.
- Warren, R.M. (1985). Criterion shift rule and perceptual homeostasis.
Psychological Review, 92, 574-585.
- Author. (year of publication). Title of article. Title of Journal.
Volume, pages.
To find this article in the library catalogue you would type in Psychological
