JUP 460Y - Contemporary Issues in Peace and Conflict
(formerly UNI 460Y)

A colloquium (fall term) and research seminar (spring term) on the changing meaning of security. Concepts to be considered and applied in research, range from the conventional (balance of power, arms control) to the innovative (gaia hypothesis, feminist perspectives, deep ecology). The course begins with a survey of alternative research methodologies (positivist, post-positivist, post-modern).
