HomeVisiting Faculty: Detailed housing information
Program Overview and EligibilityThe University of Toronto Visiting Faculty Housing Program was established to provide visiting professors who have been invited to the University with short-term, furnished accommodation. The program eases their temporary transition to a new city and academic setting, and promotes a cooperative connection between their home institution and the University of Toronto. Eligibility for Visiting Faculty Housing is reserved for full-time professors from other universities or research institutions who have been formally invited to the University of Toronto to teach and/or conduct research. Post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and students are not eligible for this program. Visiting Faculty Housing is also available for full-time academic tenured or tenure-stream faculty at the University who require short-term emergency housing, such as in the event of a flood or fire that leaves them temporarily without housing. It is necessary for a faculty member in the relevant University department or faculty to confirm the visiting or tenure-stream professor's status. Apartments are solely for the use of the applicant and any person, or persons, identified in the housing application. This not-for-profit program is administered by the University's Residential Housing Ancillary and operates on a cost-recovery basis with no subsidies.
