Spiranthes romanzoffiana Cham.

(Hooded Ladies'-tresses)

In open to shaded areas, in a variety of moist to wet sites including grassy and mossy depressions on rock ridges and gneiss outcroppings, abandoned sand and gravel pits, shores and roadside ditches. One historic collection was said to be from an "open swamp". Typically blooms in late July and early August. Fairly common in Muskoka.
