In full sun to full shade in wet to wet-mesic sites, including bogs, ditches along roads and railways, beaver meadows, and wet Eastern White Cedar woods, especially where the pH of the substrate is not highly acidic. Often growing with other species of orchids. Generally blooms from early July to early August. Rare in Muskoka.
