Corallorhiza striata Lindley

(Striped Coral-root)

In old growth woods dominated by Eastern White Cedar or Sugar Maple. Usually in densely shaded moist areas in a substrate of thick duff, often close to streams, springs or swampy ground. Blooms in late May and early June. Populations are often very transient at any particular site. Rare in Muskoka.
