Nuttall, Thomas (1786-1859)

Nuttall was one of the foremost botanical explorers of North America. He collected plants on journeys through the Great Lakes basin and along the length of both the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers (1810-1811), into what is now Oklahoma (1818-1820), and across the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific (1834-1836).
