What is it?
It is a web based software that allows you to store,
create, organize, and manage your saved citations.
It also facilitates creation of bibliographies in
various citation styles.
What are the benefits?
RefWorks is available free to faculty, staff, and
students at the University of Toronto. It allows you
to:
- collect your own set of references from online
databases (such as MEDLINE, PubMed, or Web of Science)
and the UTL catalogue with a few simple clicks;
you can also enter references manually
- create bibliographies for papers and essays according
to a variety of established styles (Vancouver, Chicago,
APA, etc) as well as change those styles quickly
- access your references from anywhere in the world
Students & RefWorks
Please encourage your students to use RefWorks to
gather and organize their references and write their
essays. The free Write-N-Cite feature allows users
to place citations within their Word document and
then quickly generate a bibliography that is not only
complete, but also correctly formatted according to
a chosen citation style. And easily changed.
