Scholars Portal Search is a new tool which allows
simultaneous multiple database and full text journal
searching for scholarly material as well as providing
links to full text wherever possible. The available
databases cover major areas of research: science,
environmental sciences and pollution management, biological
sciences, aquatic sciences and fisheries, biotechnology,
engineering, computer science, sociology, art history,
and linguistics.
While not intended as a replacement for subject specific
databases such as Ovid MEDLINE or PubMed®, Scholars
Portal Search is an additional tool which will be
of special assistance to students and researchers
seeking to broaden their research beyond traditional
boundaries and to those engaged in interdisciplinary
research. It is easy to use and groups results by
categories such as journals, peer-reviewed journals,
books and web resources.
Also part of Scholars Portal Search is RefWorks,
a free web based citation management tool which enables
collection of references and automatic formatting
of bibliographies and reference lists.
