Central, Critical Care Forum is a web site and electronic
journal that aims to improve the care of critically
ill patients by acquiring, discussing, distributing,
and promoting evidence based information. Four
types of articles appear:
- Commentaries:
short opinion pieces by specialists to highlight
important issues including research, ethics, intensive
care units, etc
- Reviews: comprehensive
and authoritative descriptions of aspects of critical
care. Science reviews describe science that is yet
to have a clinical impact; Bench-to-bedside reviews
describe science underlying clinical situations;
Clinical reviews describe purely clinical situations.
- Research articles include
all types of research into any aspect of intensive
care and emergency medicine.
- Reports provide comprehensive
overview of the intensive care field by reporting
on recently published papers, international scientific
meetings, books, and websites. There are: synopses
from 20 leading medical journals; meeting reports;
book reports which evaluate both the content and
usefulness of new books; and web reports describe
and evaluate websites relevant to the critical care
community.
