Conference Theme
The Library and the Academic Community
The 4th annual TRY Library Staff Conference will focus on the evolving relationship between the university library and the academic community which it serves. Underlying the conference theme, "The Library and the Academic Community," is the question of what new resource and service infrastructures will be needed to support teaching, research and learning in the digital world - and to what extent will traditional library services remain relevant?
Library staff from all departments of the TRY (Toronto-Ryerson-York) Libraries are encouraged to consider submitting proposals to present at the conference. Areas of particular interest include but are not limited to:
- Collaboration with faculty
- Digitization projects
- Information literacy
- Teaching and Research
- Curation of: non-print materials, datasets, published and unpublished research
- Library responses to directions in university curriculum and research
- Scholarly communication and models of publishing
- The role of special collections
- The changing skill-sets of library staff
- The use of learning systems such as Blackboard and other technology tools
