History of Library Staff Exhibitions

In 2004, the library's staff development committee organized an exhibition called Staff Picks for Summer Reading. Full-time, part-time, and retired library staff were invited to recommend a book that they thought would be of interest to others. Staff enthusiastically took up the challenge and recommended over 100 books. The exhibition was officially launched by chief librarian, Carole Moore, in June 2004, and ran until the end of August. Hundreds of printed copies of the book list were taken by viewers of the exhibition. The only complaint: "I would have loved to participate but I didn't know about it!". As a result, we have been organizing exhibitions of books recommended by UofT Library Staff since then. The Seas of Ink Exhibition continues and builds from this first Library Staff exhibition.
